cAMPTON School Apartments
Originally built in 1942, the old Wolfe County High School saw over 60 years as an educational institution, until its closing in 2005. After sitting vacant for nearly a decade, the beloved Wolfe County landmark is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and has been transformed into 19 units of mixed-income housing for residents 55 and older.
The Campton School Apartments contain 13 one-bedroom, and 6 two-bedroom units. Sixteen of these units are designated as affordable housing, and includes handicap accessible units. Campton School Apartments also house the new Wolfe County Community Center, which features a full size gymnasium, a stage, state-of-the-art lighting and sound technology, and a concession area. The residents can also enjoy 2 community rooms, fitness center, and an elevator.
