Beattyville School Apartments
Constructed by the School Board of Lee County, Kentucky, this school housed not only students until its closure in 1967, but it also housed the first public educational radio station in the United States aimed at rural communities from 1940-1941, WBKY. Later this station was moved to Lexington and became WUKY.
The original classrooms from the Beattyville Grade School have been carefully and expertly transformed into comfortable apartments. The rich history and craftmanship remain intact, while modern systems and amnities have been included.
There are 18 gracious apartments in total with 12 one-bedroom apartments and 6 two-bedroom apartments. Income and age restrictions will apply for all apartments.
